Design house Stoned Cherrie has received a fabulous 10th anniversary present: a contract to dress a few of the performers taking part in the opening ceremony of the World Cup.
Although Nkosi would not give names - as the list of artists performing at the opening is a closely guarded secret - she said that the estimated billion television viewers round the world were "in for a surprise".
"Yes, I will be styling the opening ceremony," Nkosi said, "but I am not allowed to tell who, and in what, I am dressing the people.
"But we are going to design what people loved us for in the beginning of our designing years. The look has been slightly reinvented, but we are going back to our roots," said Nkosi.
Stoned Cherrie has received numerous awards, including the Fair Lady Fashion Awards best women's brand in 2004 and, in 2005, top success story of the year.
Nkosi has shown her label in fashion shows in other African countries and last year participated in New York Fashion Week. "It's been a phenomenal journey for the label, but we won't stop yet," said Nkosi. "This year we are going to pull out all the stops because it's our 10th birthday," she said.
The label will also be showing at Africa Fashion Week, which runs from 30 June until 3 July at the Sandton Convention Centre.
